The layout of this repurposed composite building consists of a core of detached modules within the building topped and bottomed by mazes of conventional hallway storage. All but one of the lifts are cargo only, you will have to do the stairs if you are on the upper three levels. Some stairways only serve the modules. No fire suppression but the facility with very few exceptions is very well lit and clean with balcony views of the modules that will remind you of science fiction movies. It also features a double horizontal gate elevator the Paul the managing owner said was from 1919-back when Oakland itself mattered. Fortunately, they have the sharp and attentive management that this unusual building requires and there are no hobo camps around the facility.

Bonita was the on-site manager who assisted us so quickly, even though we arrived so close to closing time on Sunday! After hours searching, comparing prices, distance, etc. on-line, I was able to find this place so close to our home AND much less expensive than most of the storage facilities in the area! We were able to move in the same day. She was very clear about all of the rules, paperwork, and showing us how to get in and use the elevators. We were happy to find out that the 4th floor only involved 2 flights of stairs and the elevators for our stuff were easy to use. They provide carts so we didn't need our dolly and were able to move in with just one trip. The facility is very secure, the manager ALWAYS made sure that nobody unauthorized could get in. We are really happy with the price we found online. And we are especially happy with the great customer service! They also seem to give money to charity, so that's always good!

The staff at this location are very helpful and they even provided a lock for my storage site on the day of my move-in, which I had not expected. The facilities are well organized and clean and I feel I can trust that the belongings that I have stored there are safe. Also, I appreciate the access that provided to my items in storage - which I can access when convenient. Will definitely make use of the facility if I have storage needs going forward.

Lift elevator fate has been malfunctioning for some time apparently. This was my first visit to start service and lift gate locked, there was no way to contact office to let them know had I been there alone. I had to yell for my husband on another floor. Last inspection certificate expired 5/2019. This elevator and gate needs to be updated. The ladies in the office were pleasant and efficient, but no apology was offered to me when the office person did show up.

The facility itself is nice, and the location is convenient. The only drawbacks are that they only allow access during office hours, you need to provide your own lock and they charge you an extra fee for insurance. Other than that, the front desk person is very pleasant to work with and even stayed a little later so I could move everything in, which was really nice of her.

Location is good, parking and security systems. The place run smoothly and the customer service desk has helpful and friendly people. Though I wish their hours were longer or even 24/7. Great place overall!

The storage building was really easy to find. Navigating through the entire building inside is a bit confusing the first time, but one gets used to it and itâs very easy to go around from the entrance to your unit.

The pricing was great for a last-minute storage unit. However, I did not anticipate such an unkept storage facility with bugs roaming inside. I was also met with poor service as they did not have carts to move my things. Overall I did not have a very pleasant moving experience, but the pricing was cheap and convenient.

I signed up with sparefoot over the phone, the whole process took minutes and they gave me a rebate on the lock I purchased at the facility. The whole thing was easy, well documented and reviewed with personnel onsite. Itâs my first time getting a storage unit, but based on my experience Iâll definitely use both services again.

Overall a good experience so far, with a few little things about the property that could use improvement - such as making it easier to load boxes at the dock (right now there's no way to load on a cart right at your car and then take the cart to the dock, you have to bring the boxes to the dock, which is a bit inconvenient). It would also be nice to have an elevator that you could ride with your things, rather than sending them on the freight elevator up and down. Other than that, it was a smooth experience, and a reasonable price.

The lady in the front desk was very attentive and helped me out with all my questions. She even spent another hour there to help me finish loading all my stuff since my movers got there pretty late. I know she didn't have to do that but I'm so thankful she did. The staff and her were all amazing and I will definitely be recommending this place to all my friends.

Check-in was very long a lot of the documents they want you to sign should have been emailed prior to check in. Printing contracts is very old, would have preferred to have the option to have signed copies of my contract emailed to me. The elevator was also not working and this could pose an issue for anyone moving into the larger unit on the second level.

When I first went to sign my paperwork to get my day going before moving my stuff, the office worker had left and closed the office. The maintenance worker said that she had gone to take her kid to school. So that was the first strike against this facility, I understand that this stuff happens sometimes, but that's also how bad reviews happen. My schedule for moving had been thrown off. In addition to this first inconvenience, the facility has a poor design. The corridors are so narrow that it's hard to even get their own carts through the corners, and if you have something big on the cart it's easier to just pick it up and walk it over. So their lay-out was probably an attempt to maximize rentable space (understandable) but it was done to the detriment of utility. The third strike against this facility is that their roll-up doors are on a timer to close if no one has gone through them in a while. However it's such a short timer that it gives you just enough to get your cart almost loaded and then the doors start to shut before you can go through. It makes the whole process frustrating. And finally, when you are looking for a cart, chances are you won't find them. Instead of me having to wander the maze looking for a cart, I strongly feel that the employees should make an effort to keep the carts near the entrances. One good thing about this facility is that when I was moving in a few days before the end of the month, they prorated the rent without a problem. My experience in the past with other facilities is that they won't prorate the rent and want to charge you a full month, even for a few days. This facility is run by the same people as the one on San Pablo nearby. I have used that facility in the past and I can say that that one is much better.

A more economical choice- facility is average but the staff is very helpful and friendly. Nearby Storquest is much nicer but maybe not worth x2 the cost.
